Josh Scott
Singer/Songwriter/performer
Josh Scott is a country singer, songwriter, and performing artist based in Arizona. Remarkably, Josh didn't sing or write a song until his mid-thirties. After an unexpected early success, he found himself in prison, where music became a fleeting comfort. However, during his seven years behind bars, Josh continued writing and emerged as a full-time country recording artist after being released.
One year after his release, Josh walked into a local bar called “Handlebar J” in Scottsdale, Arizona, and approached Ray Herndon of McBride & The Ride, a 1996 CMA Artist of the Year. Josh shared his songs and admiration for Ray, who invited him to sing that night. Two weeks later, they were working together at Ray's home, bringing Josh's songs to life. This partnership led Josh to open for renowned artist Mark Chesnutt and perform alongside his band. Since then, he has also opened twice for Tracy Lawrence, and has shared the stage with other known country artists such as Lainey Wilson, Doug Stone, Aaron Tippin, and Montgomery Gentry to name a few. Josh's journey continued as he connected with Darryl Worley, who performed at an event Josh organized.
From writing songs in solitary confinement to collaborating with his heroes, Josh's story is one of resilience and passion. His talent caught the attention of Kari Lake, who invited him to join her gubernatorial campaign trail, and UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz, who appeared in Josh's music video "Redneck Enough to Be Dangerous." Sheriff Mark Lamb is also a fan and features in the video.
In 2021, Josh won the iHeartRadio/Jack Daniels Battle of the Bar Bands Song of the Year with hit single "THAT BOTTLE," beating contestants nationwide. Despite a tough upbringing, colorful past, and some tough life decisions, he has persevered. After taking an 18-month "break," focusing on family and writing new music, Josh is set to release a new album inspired by the power of prayer and faith, with Jeff King, who is the lead guitarist for Reba and Brooks & Dunn. The album is due out in early 2025, coinciding with Josh's return to live performances.
